Now that (imho) does make it faster rolling but does contradict your earlier point about the DHR being the faster rolling design. ![]() They steered it towards being a DHF with more braking traction. One has lots of cornering grip but not much braking power, the other has better braking capabilities (and no cornering grip). Where exactly would one look up this information?īecause as long as i´m in the game (>16 years) the tires have always explicitly been marketed as front and rear specific designs not only by the acronyms but also it was explicitly stated in marketing material i had back in the day. The DHF design hasn't changed much so its great for either as was originally intended but is slower rolling. (Look it up) This common misconception has lead Maxxis to recently steer the design of the DHR2 towards a faster rolling rear-specific tyre as people assumed that's what DHR meant. Hence many bikes being specced with DHF front and rear. It won't affect the performance of the tyre at all.Just to respond to a couple of posts above, the F in DHF originally stood for Freeride and the R in DHR stands for Race. The wires in the beads shouldn't get bent during this process, however, if they arrive with a bend, just bend them back til they are straight. Wire bead tyres are sent rolled up to minimise shipping costs.Minion DHF 2.6" tyres don't have the WT designation as they are designed to run on 35mm internal rims at a minimum. If your rims are narrower than 24mm internal, you may find them to roll and squirm under hard cornering. However, riders utilising narrower rims (ourselves included) have still found them to perform exceptionally. These tyres were designed around use with 35mm internal rims.
